Admissions Process
Springhill Montessori School provides a mixed-aged Montessori learning environment that offers freedom of choice within limits and supports the development of autonomy, intellectual curiosity, personal awareness and social responsibility. Families are encouraged to work with the school in the spirit of collaboration to support the child’s educational journey. To be considered for admissions, families must complete the following steps:
Step 1: School Visit
Visiting Our School
After careful review of our website and other informational materials about our school and programs, parents should contact the school to set up an appointment to visit the school. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to observe a classroom in session and have an informational tour of the entire program. Additionally, this will provide an opportunity to speak with the director of the school to learn more about the school’s educational philosophy. It is highly recommended that a school visit be performed prior to submitting an application.
Step 2: Submit Application
Submitting Your Admissions Application
Parents who are interested in applying to our school may submit an application online or download an application form (Word format or Adobe Acrobat format) for printing. You may also request an application upon completion of the school tour. Complete the admissions application and return the application form accompanied by current school records, school evaluation forms, and the $25 application fee to:
Step 3: The Interview
Admissions Interview
Our admissions staff will contact parents to setup an interview for both parents and children. The interview lasts 30 – 60 minutes and consists of discussion about the child, the parents, and the Montessori methodology. During the interview process, the primary aged children may be invited into the classroom to explore the environment and work directly with the teacher while the parents remain with the admissions representative. The Toddler aged children will remain with the parents throughout the interview process.
Step 4: School Acceptance
Acceptance to the Program
There are several factors that determines the child’s acceptance into Springhill Montessori School. It is important that the educational goals for the family and those of the school are matched appropriately to ensure the overall success of the student, family and the school in the education of the child. Additionally, the evaluations of the admissions representative, the observations of the guide and current school evaluations are weighed as a part of the overall selection process. Each family will be notified of the disposition of their child’s acceptance. The acceptance letter is accompanied by an Enrollment Agreement which must be mailed to the school with a non-refundable tuition deposit within two weeks of acceptance.
