The History Of Springhill

Our Beginnings

Springhill Montessori School was born out of a need to address early childhood education in the southern sector of the Greater Dallas metroplex. Prompted by a group of parents who lived in Oak Cliff, it was determined that the North Oak Cliff area was the place to establish a Montessori based learning center for children ages 15 months to 3 years of age.

On June 1st, 2004, Springhill Montessori opened its doors in the beautiful residential community of King’s Highway Conservation District. With just a few students, we began a Toddler classroom in the educational tradition of Maria Montessori. By focusing on the needs of our students and our parents, we were able to establish a collaborative approach to educating our young students.

As our first group of students became older, it became necessary to open a Primary classroom to ensure a smooth transition into the next development cycle for our students. With two classrooms and an ever expanding waiting list, it was clear that Springhill Montessori School would need to relocate to accommodate the increased demand.

Springhill Today

Springhill Montessori School has become known as a loving, respectful, and nuturing learning environment in the community. We are proud of our accomplishments and look forward to taking on new challenges and responsibilities as we grow and expand.
Our new facility allows us to continue our mission while serving a broader community base who are in need of early childhood education for thier children.

The current expansion of Springhill allows us to enhance the child’s learning by providing additional space for academic and motor development activities. Additionally, we are able to enhance the Springhill community with meeting space and common areas for our parents and families to plan, collaborate, and organize around shared goals and commitments.

As our Springhill family continued to grow, we added a NIDO classroom for infants ages 8 weeks to 15 months. Initially offered to existing Springhill families, the program proved to be extremely popular and quickly filled with our students’ younger siblings as well as infants from the surrounding community.

Our Future

At Springhill Montessori School we are passionate about assisting children with their development intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially utilizing the Montessori philosophy and techniques. The vision for the future growth of our school includes a significant focus on art, science, sports and technology. We will continue to incorporate enrichment progams to enhance the academic experience of our students, our parents and our families.
